Powder coating must be applied to clean, bare metal. Even if the application is correctly applied the finished product will always fail to some degree if the metal surface is improperly treated and handled. At Phantom Powder Coaters our preparation is meticulously carried out on all jobs.
An absolute must for successful powder coating is that the surface that’s going to be coated must undergo pre-treatment to clean and decontaminate. Contamination of the surface will show aesthetic defects in the coating eg; lumps, bumps, dents etc. which will cause poor adhesion between the coating and the base.
